PAG-IBIG Fund President and CEO Romero F.S. Quimbo recently renewed his vow to transform the fund into an ideal government and financial institution—and promised to achieve goals within the next two years.
"From the moment I sat as chief of the fund, I began implementing a five-year strategy called the IBM (ideal, benchmark or model) Plan," the CEO said told reporters in a meeting recently.

Quimbo expressed sadness over the US court ruling that denied some 10,000 Filipino human rights victims’ access to over $35 million in an account held by the late Philippine dictator Ferdinand Marcos, and encouraged the victims not to give up their struggle.

“At a time when the numbers of poor people in growing, when food and fuel costs are spiraling, undertaking massive foreclosures is almost criminal,” the 2006 TOYM awardee for government service said.
The Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC) held two Housing Fairs, at the Rizal Park, Manila and in Kawit, Cavite as part of of Philippine Independence day celebrations.
The Araw ng Kalayaan 2008 Housing Fairs run from June 10 to 12 at the Rizal Park and from June 12 to 13 at the Freedom Park across the Aguinaldo Shrine in Cavite City.
PAG-IBIG President and CEO Romero F.S. Quimbo condemned the recent abduction of high profile TV anchor Ces Drilon and her camera crew, saying that such incidents only further worsen the country’s situation.
While he noted that Muslim extremism was spurred by historical injustices inflicted on “our Muslim brothers and sisters in the South,” he said that violence can never be a solution.
